Network Standards Manager

About the Role

The Liverpool City Region is on a mission to deliver a world-class, fully integrated transport network—and we’re looking for a Network Standards Manager to help make that vision a reality.

Reporting to the Head of Partnerships & Growth, this pivotal role will lead the development and delivery of our Network Standards strategy across bus and rail, ensuring that every journey meets high expectations for quality, consistency, and passenger experience. Acting as the “voice of the passenger,” you’ll champion innovation, inclusivity, and continuous improvement across all touchpoints—from journey planning to branding and signage to real-time information and service quality across a range of on-network touchpoints.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across Marketing, IT, Customer Services, and Operations, bringing together expertise from across the organisation to shape how we communicate with passengers – with an eye to the future to ensure we innovate and lead on the provision of transport information as we work towards delivering an integrated transport network for all users. With a collaborative and empowering approach, you’ll guide and support teams focused on delivering transport information and service quality—ensuring their work is aligned, impactful, and continuously improving.

This is a new strategic leadership role with operational influence and a unique opportunity to help bring our network to life, develop and embed a brand strategy and help us think creatively about how we engage with passengers and current non-users. From the development of a whole network standards programme and team through to a roll out of our transport brand, this role will deliver a number of “firsts” for LCRCA, at a hugely exciting time for the region’s transport network.

 About the person

You’re a strategic and values-led professional who understands that public transport is more than just infrastructure—it’s about trust, identity, and experience. You recognise the power of a strong brand to unify services, inspire confidence, and make journeys easier and more intuitive for everyone. That’s why you’ll be passionate about shaping and protecting the brand as a symbol of high-quality, integrated transport across the Liverpool City Region.

You bring a collaborative mindset and a track record of working across teams to deliver consistent, impactful service improvements. Whether you come from transport, customer experience, marketing, or service design, you’ll be confident leading initiatives that align branding, passenger information, and service quality with the needs of diverse communities.

You’re technically aware and data-informed, with a natural ability to translate insight into action and your knowledge of digital innovation will ensure we are future-proofing our transport information channels, improving everything from journey planning through to real-time information and how our passengers provide feedback. You’ll be comfortable navigating complex stakeholder environments, guiding teams and partners to deliver joined-up solutions that drive satisfaction and increase patronage.

Above all, you care about making public transport better for everyone—and you’re ready to play a key role in embedding our transport brand as a trusted, visible promise of excellence across every journey.
