The Complementary Education Service supports schools in ensuring statutory educational provision for pupils who are unable to attend school in the usual way as a result of medical illness, pregnancy or emotional and psychological difficulties.
Group teaching is provided at Pinefield in Formby and through provision of home tuition and remote learning packages. We are a small, dedicated team based centrally within the borough, linked to a wider SEN and Inclusion Service. As such you can expect to benefit from a wide range of expertise from colleagues who are committed to securing the best possible outcomes for pupils’ emotional health, wellbeing resilience and academic progress.
We work in partnership with local schools and agencies including CAMHS, health partners, careers services and social care practitioners. The Service supports schools in raising the levels of achievement, attendance and participation for vulnerable groups to enable them to engage in appropriate learning opportunities with a view to reintegrating with their mainstream or specialist settings.
We are looking to appoint for two days a week, an Inclusion Manager, who is able to work with other safeguarding leads to ensure consistency of safeguarding procedures across the Service, attend safeguarding reviews and ensure that recommendations and agreed actions are actioned, recorded and monitored.
The post will require an element of travel to pupils’ home and school settings and is subject to a casual car user mileage allowance.
Visits to our teaching base at Pinefield would be welcomed.
