Digital Governance Officer
About the Role
Step into a pivotal position as our Digital Governance Officer – where your expertise will help shape the future of digital services across the Liverpool City Region. Reporting directly to the Digital Governance and Compliance Manager, you’ll be the part of the driving force behind establishing and embedding robust governance practices throughout our Digital service area.
In this wide-ranging role, you’ll lead and inspire a team of two Digital Governance Assistants, championing best practices and supporting colleagues across Digital Services; deliver insightful management information to the Digital Services leadership team, empowering smarter, data-driven decisions; collaborate closely with the Digital Contracts Manager to ensure our software licenses, contracts, and domain registrations are fully optimised and always compliant; play a key part in risk mitigation – assisting with audits, appraising policies, and ensuring we’re always ahead of the curve on compliance; and review and approve operational service change requests within our IT service management system, making sure every change supports our strategic goals.
This is your opportunity to make a real impact – promoting a culture of excellence, supporting innovation, and helping to deliver digital services that make a difference for our community.

You’ll be a clear communicator - someone who can engage confidently with colleagues, suppliers, and partners at all levels, both verbally and in writing. Analytical and data-driven, you’ll have the skills to interpret service management information and produce insightful reports that support decision-making. You’ll be flexible and adaptable, ready to work efficiently from home or the office, and willing to adjust to changing priorities as needed. You’ll also be motivated by continuous improvement, always seeking out best practices in IT governance, risk management, and compliance, and eager to contribute to a culture of good governance. You’ll possess commitment to equality, safety, and corporate values, ensuring that all work upholds statutory requirements and the Combined Authority’s standards.
