The Rowan Schools are situated across three sites and cater for pupils with Educational Health Care Plans.  The Teaching Assistant vacancies are for both Rowan Park and Rowan High Schools.

Rowan Park School is an outstanding Special School, which supports the learning and development of children and young people aged 3 -19 years; Rowan High School is for pupils aged 11-19 years with a diagnosis of Autism and The Rowan Tree caters for Reception and Year 1 pupils’ who have a diagnosis of autism and learning difficulties. Pupil's at The Rowan Tree eventually transition over to Rowan Park School site to continue their educational journey.

Rowan High School/Rowan Park School  

Job Purpose

• To work with and supervise individuals and groups of children with significant Special Educational Needs, under the direction and instruction of teaching and/or senior staff. This includes supporting specific individual learning needs, enabling access to learning for all pupils, assisting with classroom management and behaviour techniques, and providing specialist support for children with severe and complex learning difficulties.
• To supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of the teacher, as directed by the headteacher.
