Knowsley Council has a well-established, integrated Performance and Business Intelligence team supporting a range of services including Special Educational Needs (SEND), Education, and Children’s Social Care.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Intelligence Officer to help us deliver high-quality data solutions that drive service improvement and better outcomes for children and families.
The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing and implementing Power BI dashboards and reports to support the ongoing rollout of our Children’s Services performance framework. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the service, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write and optimise SQL queries to extract and transform data from multiple sources.
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and SSRS reports that support performance monitoring and strategic planning.
- Collaborate with service managers, practitioners and senior leaders to understand reporting needs and deliver tailored data solutions.
- Communicate data insights clearly and effectively to a range of stakeholders.
- Support the development of data models and performance frameworks aligned to service priorities.
The role requires:
- Ability to produce and present accurate, clear and concise reports and management information in a variety of formats for different audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work across multiple services areas or agencies.
- Ability to work as part of a team engaged in multiple projects, managing competing demands, and delivering work to tight timescales.
To be considered for entry at grades J or K:
- Experience of using reporting and analysis tools such as Power BI, SSRS, SQL to extract and analyse information from databases.
- Experience of establishing and maintaining systems for the collection and interpretation of large, complex data sets.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to tailor the presentation of data/ intelligence for specific audiences to enable planning and decision-making.
