The Role:
- An exciting opportunity has arisen within Liverpool Children and Young People’s Services as we integrate our SEND and Alternative Provision services, enabling a holistic understanding of and response to children and young people’s needs
- As the Leaning Support Mentor of the Visually Impaired, you will be a key player by providing specialist support to young children with visual impairments and their families, both within nursery/ school settings and in the home, fostering inclusive early development and learning. This role aims to empower families, enhance the child’s independence, and facilitate a smooth transition into educational environments
- As a key player in this service area, you will work as part of a team that includes the 1 Operational Leader (VI), Qualified teachers of the visually Impaired (QTVI) and Support staff. Reporting directly to the Operational Leader (VI), the Learning Support Mentor will contribute significantly to supporting our mission of providing quality education to every child and young person, irrespective of their background or challenges they may face and will work with colleagues to be the first point of contact for referrals.
This role is 28 hours per week working Term-Time only.
