Lead Officer: International Relations
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced international relations professional to drive the development and delivery of the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority’s International Strategy and deliver the ambitions of the International Relations Board.
This is a pivotal role, working closely with foreign governments, embassies, trade bodies and key internal and external stakeholders to promote the Liverpool City Region as a leading destination for tourism, trade, investment, and innovation.
Leading a small team, you will coordinate trade missions, inward investment visits, and international delegations and build key partnerships ensuring tangible outcomes for businesses and the wider Liverpool City Region economy.
This is a 6 month fixed term vacancy.
About the person
The ideal candidate will be experienced in diplomacy, with a proven track record of building and managing international partnerships. They will have strong communication and negotiation skills, political acumen, and the ability to navigate complex geopolitical landscapes.
Equally important is the ability to foster collaborative relationships, convene diverse partners, and coordinate activity around shared objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the strategic direction of our international agenda, aligning global engagement with organisational priorities and our long-term vision.
This role requires a leader who can represent the LCRCA on the world stage, foster meaningful collaborations, and drive forward our international agenda with integrity, insight, and impact.
