Melling Primary School is a Sefton Local Authority School. It is one form entry with classes from Reception to Year 6.

We are seeking to appoint an EYFS/KS1/SEN Teaching Assistant Level 2 to work with children with in early years.

The hours of work are:

8.50am to 3.05pm 

We are looking for:

  • someone who can demonstrate experience, enthusiasm and commitment to working with young children and those with additional needs
  • someone who has a Teaching Assistant qualification; is in the process of gaining a qualification or is looking to train for a qualification
  • have fun/enthusiasm/passion for learning and enjoy working with children
  • hard working, flexible, committed and reliable
  • excellent communication skills
  • be well organised and able to use your own initiative
  • a team player, willing to go the ‘extra mile’ and have a ‘can do’ approach
  • nurture and provide an exciting, challenging and stimulating learning environment for our children and are able to adapt to specific learning needs in a fun and caring manner.
  • be open to change and develop practice with the needs of the pupils
  • be prepared to play an active role in feeding back to parents and colleagues regarding both the needs and progress of children.
  • Be willing to support children with intimate care requirements and/or medical needs
  • committed to the whole school community and be prepared to be actively involved in the life of the school

 

Due to the nature of work the above post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitiation of Offenders Act 1974 and relevant care/safeguarding legislation and appointment will only be confirmed if a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure is obtained from the Criminal Records Bureau.
