The Transport Planning team, which embraces strategic transport planning, highways design and highways development control, plays a vital role in supporting the Councils regeneration ambitions. As such:

 

  • Your role includes leading the development, management, delivery and monitoring of exciting and rewarding school neighbourhood projects aimed at improving road safety and accessibility for the school community – thus supporting active travel, improved highway safety and enhanced public realm.
  • You will support the development, design and delivery of safe, accessible and sustainable transportation infrastructure.
  • Your role will require excellent communication and engagement skills and experience in data collection and analysis.
  • You will support the Council’s ambitious Growth and Strategic Investment Programme and transformation of the borough’s transportation infrastructure in line with our emerging Low Carbon Transport Strategy and overarching regeneration and Net Zero ambitions.
  • You will collaborate with colleagues in other teams across the Council, including Regeneration, Neighbourhoods and Public Health, as well as collaborating with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and other local, regional and national partners.

 

Your role

Sefton Council is seeking a committed, enthusiastic and experienced School Neighbourhood Officer, with significant experience in effective management of school and community based active travel projects and engagement activities. You will be required to develop and manage school neighbourhood projects across the borough, leading on the effective delivery of our school-based active travel programme.

 

Your role will involve the appropriate onboarding of schools, effective application of school and community engagement activities and leading a successful management and monitoring framework. You will contribute to the development of transport policies and strategies and delivery of the Council’s Transport Capital Programme.
