Project Lead
Sefton Council is a vibrant local authority that is already on a journey of aspiration and ambition as it works towards delivering its exciting Vision 2030.
The Transport Planning Team, which embraces strategic transport planning, highways and structures design and highways development control plays a vital role in supporting the Councils regeneration ambitions. Exciting and transformation projects are being developed for the town centres and a long term programme of activity, aimed at supporting active travel, improved highway safety and public realm and electric vehicle infrastructure. Sefton Council is seeking the services of a committed and enthusiastic Engineer with specific experience in the designing, procurement and supervision of transport projects to take the role as Project Lead.
As part of the Highway Design team, you will:
- Play a significant role in the delivery of the Council’s ambitious Growth and Strategic Investment Programme.
- Help transform the borough’s transportation infrastructure in line with our emerging Low Carbon Transport Strategy.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues with Strategic Transport Planning and Highways Development Control teams and with colleagues in other departments, including Regeneration.
Your job role will involve:
- Leading the completion of feasibility studies, optioneering, preliminary and detailed design of highway and other transport projects, with a particular focus on the development and delivery of larger projects.
- Compiling works information, contact administration and supervision.
- Completing technical checks on works completed by developers and the Council’s Technical Service Support Services provider.
