Knowsley Council’s Exchequer Services plays a vital role in safeguarding the financial health of the authority while supporting our residents. We manage key income streams and ensure compliance with legislation, helping the Council deliver high-quality services to the community.
We are seeking a dynamic Revenues Manager to lead specialist teams delivering critical services:
Sundry Debtors & Reconciliation Team
Responsible for recovering income for goods and services provided by the Council, including commercial rents and social care charges, and ensuring all income streams—such as Council Tax, Business Rates, and sundry debtors—are accurately allocated and reconciled.
As Revenues Manager, you will:
- Lead and manage team performance, setting clear objectives, prioritising workloads, and reallocating resources to meet changing service demands.
- Develop and monitor service and team plans, ensuring targets are achieved and performance standards are consistently met.
- Liaise with other Teams, Sections, Services and external organisations to maintain effective working relationships and ensure that corporate priorities can be achieved whilst maximising income for the authority through an efficient, effective and comprehensive billing and collection service.
- Oversee staff management activities, including recruitment, training and development and performance reviews.
Drive service improvement, supporting innovation, analysing legislation, coordinating responses to complex enquiries, and ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, quality standards, and fraud prevention measures.
About You
- We are looking for a confident and motivated leader with strong experience in managing people, performance and service delivery within a fast‑paced environment.
- You will be highly organised, able to balance competing priorities, and comfortable making informed decisions that support effective service outcomes.
- You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to guide, support and develop team members.
- A keen eye for detail, a commitment to high standards, and the ability to interpret legislation and apply policies consistently will be essential.
