Wirral is a great place to begin your social work career. We are a welcoming, supportive, systemic and nurturing council, committed to developing our newly qualified workforce so you can build confidence, grow your skills and thrive as a professional practitioner.
Our children, young people and families are at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for passionate and motivated Newly Qualified Social Workers to join us through our Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) programme and help improve outcomes for children and young people across Wirral.

- A structured ASYE learning programme aligned to the professional capabilities framework
- Access to high quality training, workshops and development opportunities delivered by our Practice Improvement Team
- Peer support networks with fellow Newly Qualified Social Workers to help you learn, reflect and grow together

We will provide you with the right tools and flexible working arrangements to support your work-life balance, allowing you to work effectively around your own needs while meeting the needs of children and families. Our systems and processes are designed to help you focus on meaningful social work practice rather than unnecessary bureaucracy.
