 About the Role

A vacancy has arisen for Day/Night Mechanical Fitter within the Maintenance Delivery team based at the Asset Management depot in Wallasey. This is a great opportunity to be a part of the team who maintain some of Liverpool City Regions key and historic assets such as Kingsway and Queensway tunnels and other key transport infrastructure across the region.

The successful candidate will be a member of the day/night shift team, responsible for carrying out both planned mechanical maintenance and emergency/reactive tasks safely and within agreed timescales across the Mersey Tunnels and wider estate as required. Working collaboratively as part of a team, they will support the delivery of maintenance and installation projects, operating under the supervision of a Team Leader and reporting to the Principal Officer, Works Delivery.

 

About the person

The ideal candidate will hold a full manual driving licence and a relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification (City & Guilds or equivalent). They will have completed a recognised apprenticeship and be time-served, with a clear commitment to continuous improvement. A strong understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, policies, and procedures is essential. The successful individual will be a flexible, reliable team player who can adapt to varying demands.
