Crematorium Operative/ Relief Technician

We are St Helens Borough Council

The Bereavement Services Team at St Helens Borough Council run two operational Cemeteries and a Crematorium. Our Operational Team of 3 Cemetery Operatives, 2 Crematorium Operatives and 2 Crematorium technicians support the team in providing all burial and cremation services. The Cemetery at St Helens has been a silver finalist in the Cemetery of the Year awards for the past 4 years, along with an APSE finalist for the best Service Team for the past two years.

Join our team

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a desire to work within the Operational team in providing excellent Bereavement Services. The successful applicant will work as part of The Bereavement Services and Grounds Maintenance Team in providing a safe, peaceful, and pleasant environment for the bereaved and visitors. Experience of manual work and a good knowledge of Health and Safety and safe working practices is necessary, along with good frontline skills. Experience of driving a J C B Excavator is essential for this role.
