Ashurst Primary School is seeking an outstanding practitioner, manager and leader as our new deputy headteacher from September 2026. This role will have a teaching commitment as part of the role.

The successful candidates must:
- Be an outstanding classroom practitioner with experience
- Have experience of successful middle and subject leadership of a core subject area
- Ability to lead and manage a range of staff effectively
- Demonstrate high expectations for all pupils including disadvantaged groups

- Promote outstanding behaviour and attitudes for learning
- Demonstrate excellent behaviour management strategies and outstanding pastoral care
- Experience of leading on curriculum development resulting in positive outcomes for pupils
- Ability to read and interpret data to inform teaching & learning and contribute effectively to good or better progress for all pupils
- Excellent communication skills
- Contribute to the wider life of the school community, including after school clubs/activities
- Work effectively with parents, governors and other stakeholders by establishing and maintaining excellent relationships

Ashurst Primary is a one-form entry school, with its own nursery provision. We are proud to have a brand-new school which launched the opening of a SEMH provision in September 2023.
