Solicitor/Lawyer - Commercial Property
This is an exciting time to join the Council as it pursues its journey of transformation and regeneration of its town centres.
St Helens is ideally located in the Merseyside area with good transport links to the surrounding areas. We are a busy, but friendly and well supported legal team. We are Lexcel accredited and were finalists in both the Local Government Chronical “Team of the Year 2024” awards and the LexisNexis “Team of the Year Award 2026”.
We have embraced new ways of working giving flexibility for all our team members to work in a hybrid way, allowing staff to take control of their work/life balance.
We would welcome a discussion with candidates who would wish to work fewer or more hours than advertised as our aim is to attract the best candidate for the role and we may be able to accommodate work/life balance or increased hours requests.
In St Helens we are proud of our Borough, linking both industry and innovation to a strong local heritage sitting in an area of rolling countryside and areas of outstanding natural beauty.
As part of our transformation journey the Council has made a significant commitment to the delivery of the Borough’s ambitious growth plans in order to accelerate delivery of the priority place-based growth projects, with a focus on securing shared prosperity outcomes, environmental enhancements and tackling the boroughs existing inequalities.
We invite applications from a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of CILEx, with experience in relation to commercial property. Whilst previous local government experience is desirable, it is not essential as training, support and mentoring will be offered as part of your continuous professional development.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop your professional and personal skills as well as having a real impact on the residents in the borough.
