Part-Time Teacher of the Deaf
Do you see yourself making a real difference in the lives of deaf children?
Are you an experienced teacher, knowledgeable and skilled in supporting children with SEND, who is optimistic, solution focused, passionate yet ready to learn more and try new things?
Are you willing to be part of a small team supporting deaf children but contribute to the wider education support team (TESSA) in St Helens?
Are you happy to work part-time for TESSA Hearing, study at post-graduate level and consider the possibility of becoming a full time Qualified Teacher of the Deaf in the future? Or do you already have your mandatory qualification?
If yes, we have an amazing opportunity for you!
Our small and highly regarded TESSA Hearing education team is looking for a motivated and dedicated Teacher of the Deaf, who is qualified with the mandatory qualification or willing to train via a 2 year part-time course. The role is part-time (2.5 or 3 days) but we are looking to plan for the future and may expand the role to full time.
Jobs like these do not come up often in our region and St Helens TESSA is committed to investing in the right teacher who will be part of the 'Experts at Hand' offer as detailed in the new SEND reforms.
Take some time to read the job description, based on being a Qualified Teacher of the Deaf; aspirational for those working towards the qualification.
