Introducing ourselves:
Hudson School and Family Hub, Moorhey Road, Maghull, L31 5LE.
Hudson is based in Maghull, Merseyside and we provide education for approximately 300 children from ages 3-11 years, from a range of backgrounds and a range of needs.
We take great pride in our true community school as it successfully provides a secure and nurturing resource for vulnerable children and families. We are privileged to offer our Family Hub facilities, outstanding 3 year old Nursery provision and furthermore our specialist resourced autism base to those within our reach with an ASC diagnosis.

Job requirements:
The Governors of Hudson Primary School and Family Hub seek to make the appointment of an Attendance Officer. This brand new role and is offered part time in the first instance working from 8.00am – 12.00pm Monday to Friday across term time. These hours have been carefully chosen to enable the postholder to contribute to raising achievements by improving school attendance.
The successful candidate will be able to
- provide a specialist service to assist the school in meeting their obligations and targets in relation to school attendance, especially persistent absence.
- promote positive attitudes by students and families towards education and to ensure that parents are made fully aware of their statutory responsibilities.
- make unsupervised contact with families in their own homes and elsewhere to assess the reasons impacting on the attendance of individual students, facilitating their return or access to regular full-time education provision through building positive and supportive relationships with families.
- establish and develop a professional service to support the school in raising attendance, investigating persistent absences and improving punctuality.
