Teacher of Religious Studies 

 
Required for Spring Term 2027 

St Michael's Church of England Academy is seeking to appoint an exceptional Teacher of 
Religious Studies who is passionate about their subject and committed to inspiring young 
people to achieve their very best. 

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated and ambitious department within a caring and 
inclusive school community. We are looking for an enthusiastic, talented and reflective 
practitioner who can deliver engaging and challenging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, 
fostering students' curiosity, critical thinking and understanding of religious, moral and 
philosophical issues. You will share our commitment to high standards, academic excellence 
and the holistic development of every student. 

We are looking for a teacher who: 

• Has a passion for Religious Studies and a commitment to high-quality teaching and learning. 
• Has strong subject knowledge and a drive to continually develop their practice. 
• Sets high expectations that inspire, motivate and challenge all students. 
• Uses a range of effective teaching and assessment strategies to secure excellent outcomes. 
• Is committed to inclusive practice and adaptive teaching to ensure all learners thrive. 
• Can make a positive contribution to the wider life of the Academy through pastoral care and enrichment opportunities. 

The successful candidate will: 

• Teach Religious Studies across Key Stages 3 and 4. 
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners. 
• Monitor, assess and support student progress to ensure strong outcomes. 
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop curriculum provision and share best practice. 
• Contribute to the Academy's pastoral system, including serving as a Form Tutor. 
• Play an active role in the wider life of the school community.
