Midday Supervisor

Broad Oak Primary School is looking for a caring, committed and kind Midday Supervisor to join our team. You’ll play an important part in making sure lunchtimes are safe, happy and enjoyable for every child.

For us, it’s not simply about previous experience. It’s about finding the right person. We want someone who genuinely cares about children, understands the importance of keeping them safe and will help make lunchtime a positive part of their school day.

You’ll be part of our friendly lunchtime team, supervising children in the dining hall and outside at play. You’ll help children with their meals, encourage positive behaviour and friendships, organise and join in with games and activities, and make sure children are safe, settled and busy throughout dinnertime.

The role also includes setting up, clearing away and some cleaning duties, helping us to keep our dining and play spaces clean, welcoming and ready for children to use.

We are looking for someone who:

️ Really cares about children and wants every child to feel happy, safe and included at lunchtime

Is vigilant and responsible, supervising children carefully and responding quickly when they need help or support

Will help keep children busy and engaged, encouraging games, activities and positive play during the lunchtime break

Builds warm, respectful relationships with children and colleagues

Has a calm, positive approach and can encourage good manners, positive behaviour and kindness towards others

Is patient, resilient and adaptable, recognising that no two lunchtimes are quite the same!

Is happy to get stuck in, including setting up, clearing tables, dealing with spills and carrying out cleaning duties as required

Maintains confidentiality at all times, keeping information about children, families and school matters private and professional.

Is a great team player who will work closely with colleagues to make lunchtime run safely and smoothly

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who will notice when a child needs a helping hand, a friendly face or someone to play with and who will help make sure every child returns to the classroom after lunch safe, happy and ready to learn.
