Senior Research and Insight Officer (maternity cover)

12-month Fixed Term Position 

About the Role  

An opportunity has arisen within the Research function to cover the Senior Research and Insight Officer role on a 12-month fixed term basis while the current postholder is on maternity leave.   The research function is responsible for gathering, analysing and interpreting data from various sources to inform decision-making and drive organisational effectiveness.    

The main duties to be covered during the 12-month period include:   

• Managing and delivering a portfolio of research projects across multiple policy and service areas, delivering both in-house and commissioned research  

• Championing high-quality social and market research across the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority  

• Designing and delivering rigorous, proportionate and ethical research applying appropriate qualitative, quantitative and mixed-method approaches 

• Providing expert and technical research advice and guidance and develop fit for purpose research plans  

• Plan, co‑ordinate and manage end‑to‑end research activity, providing professional oversight and assurance of inclusive, accessible and high‑quality research design and delivery.  

• Develop and automate data presentation and insight tools 

• Provide expert interpretation of research findings 

• Produce and present high‑quality strategic research outputs that influence policy and strategy 

About the person 

The successful person will play a key role in translating research evidence and insight into strategic value and will need a good understanding of the objectives of the Combined Authority.  

 We are looking for an individual who has strong project management skills and an ability to oversee a portfolio of research activity; advanced analytical expertise; and experience synthesising both qualitative and quantitative evidence into actionable insight. An ability to plan, organise and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines will also be essential.
