This is an opportunity to build upon strong foundations, work alongside a talented and committed team, and make a lasting impact on the lives of children and families.

About Our School

Kings Meadow Primary School is a welcoming, one-form-entry community primary school in Ainsdale, Southport, providing education for approximately 180 children aged 3–11. We are proud to be at the heart of our local community, building strong, positive relationships with our children, families, staff and wider community partners.

Our school is built on a strong values-led ethos, underpinned by our Golden Promises: Be Kind, Work Hard and Try My Best. We are committed to providing an inclusive, nurturing and aspirational environment where every child is valued, individual needs are recognised, and all pupils are supported to achieve their full potential.

The Governors are proud of:

  • Our community ethos and positive relationships with pupils, parents and carers, the Local Authority and wider community.
  • Our strong values and inclusive approach, ensuring every child feels safe, supported and able to flourish.
  • Our dedicated and talented staff team, who work collaboratively to provide high-quality education and care.
  • Our caring, nurturing and inclusive environment, underpinned by our commitment to attachment- and trauma-sensitive practice.
  • Our unique and stimulating CRACKING Curriculum, developed by our staff to inspire curiosity, develop knowledge and skills, and provide meaningful learning experiences connected to our community and the wider world.
  • Our commitment to inclusion and specialist provision, including our Speech and Language Resourced Provision for up to 10 children, enabling pupils to access learning within our mainstream school community with appropriate support.
  • Our wider family provision, including a Family Wellbeing Centre on our school site, governed by Farnborough Infant School, which supports families and strengthens links between home, school and the wider community.
  • Our early years provision, alongside a privately run two-year-old nursery operated by First Steps Enterprises, enabling us to support children and families from an early age.
  • Our commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration, including partnerships with other schools and educational professionals to share expertise and improve outcomes for children.

We are particularly proud to have been shortlisted for the Educate Awards 2026 in the category of Most Inspirational Primary School. This recognition reflects the dedication of our staff, the achievements of our children and the strength of the community we have built together.

Kings Meadow is a school with a strong identity, a clear sense of purpose and a genuine commitment to making a difference to children's lives. We are seeking a Headteacher who will build on these strengths, inspire our dedicated team, work in genuine partnership with families and governors, and lead our school confidently into its next chapter.

We Are Looking for Someone Who:

  • Is an inspiring, values-driven leader with a clear vision, high aspirations and the ability to bring people together to achieve excellence.
  • Has a proven track record of securing positive outcomes for children through strong leadership, effective teaching and learning, and a commitment to continuous school improvement.
  • Champions inclusion and equity, recognising the potential in every child and ensuring all pupils are supported to thrive, whatever their starting points or circumstances.
  • Places children's wellbeing, personal development and achievement at the heart of every decision, balancing high expectations with a nurturing, relational approach.
  • Builds trusting, positive relationships with pupils, families, staff, governors and the wider community, valuing collaboration and the contribution of others.
  • Empowers and develops staff, fostering a culture of professional growth, shared responsibility, teamwork and collective ambition.
  • Leads with integrity, resilience and compassion, able to navigate challenges while keeping the school's values and priorities firmly in focus.

We Offer:

  • The opportunity to lead a well-loved community school with a distinctive identity, strong values and a clear commitment to inclusion.
  • A dedicated, talented and caring staff team who are passionate about children's learning, wellbeing and personal development.
  • A committed and supportive Governing Body that values collaboration, provides challenge and is ambitious for the future of the school.
  • Enthusiastic pupils who enjoy learning and benefit from a nurturing environment where they are encouraged to be kind, work hard and try their best.
  • A unique, stimulating curriculum and a strong commitment to developing the whole child through meaningful learning experiences.
  • Access to high-quality professional development and opportunities to collaborate with other school leaders and educational professionals.
  • A school culture that values relationships, recognises the contribution of staff and is committed to staff wellbeing and professional fulfilment.
  • The opportunity to build on our existing strengths, shape the next chapter of Kings Meadow's development and make a lasting difference to the lives of children and families.
