Liverpool City Council is looking to recruit Short Break Support Workers (unqualified) within the Short Breaks Service. The contractual hours are 8 hours per week and the salary will be reflective of the part time hours.
As the successful applicants will be required to work directly to support disabled children and young people to access universal services within their own communities. The direct work will be focused on play and social & leisure opportunities for disabled children and young people, including community based and provision based activates at our specialist Ofsted registered short breaks provision. If this a role you would be interested in and would like to join our team we would love to hear from you!
Our service offers a high quality support service aimed at supporting disabled children and young people to access universal services, and targeted and specialist support, within the Short Breaks Menu.
The service operates on a 6-day service for disabled children and young people aged 3 -19 years. The start times for activities on weekdays are from 3pm. The start times for activities on a weekend are between 9am and 6pm. As such, the successful candidates will be required to work every Saturday and one evening during the week (either 3pm-6pm, or 6pm-9pm) (dependent on length of contract). There may be opportunity for additional hours during school holidays, evenings and weekends.
If you would like to talk to a member of the team about the role or have an informal discussion, please contact Maria Welsh at Maria.welsh@liverpool.gov.uk.
