Finance Systems Technical Assistant
St. Helens is a Council with high ambitions, a place full of energy and focus and an exciting future ahead. Our vision is to work together for a better borough, with people at the heart of everything we do.
Located in the heart of the north-west close to Liverpool, Manchester and Lancashire, St Helens is a transformational Council, which is passionate and ambitious for the communities we support. We provide a wide range of local authority services to the residents, businesses, schools, and visitors to the borough. We can only do this because of our highly valued, highly skilled workforce.
Working together, our workplace vision and values guide our organisation, and the contribution of our workforce is key to our culture journey. Employees receive a wide range of benefits including well-being in work, financial benefits including a Car Leasing Scheme, new ways of hybrid working and learning and development support.
The Council is at an exciting stage of a significant transformation programme, with the modernisation of the finance function integral to these plans. We have an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to be part of our team and help deliver our future ambitions.
Making A Difference as A Finance Systems Technical Assistant
In this newly created role, you will be part of a small team reporting to the Finance Systems Manager, within the Corporate Finance Team. The team will be central in the implementation of a cloud-based Unit 4 Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System, as part of a wider project team that includes colleagues from a range of Council service areas.
You will work with colleagues to achieve a successful implementation – assisting in configuration, testing, roll-out and training. Once embedded, you will help maintain the system, along with user support and problem resolution capture.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated person with the ability to maintain systems to fulfil the role, which will be varied and include maintaining access control, systems procedures and training.
You will already be able to demonstrate a good understanding of an integrated ERP or Finance system and be confident using Excel for data manipulation. Technical knowledge of Unit4 or Agresso applications would be an advantage but not essential.
