Care Home vacancies (care based roles)

There has never been a more exciting time to join Halton Borough Council. We are excited as a care home division to be involved in many projects, including the development of an electronic care recording system, recruitment of volunteers and plans for a refurbishment of all our homes. Because of this, we are looking to recruit to Care Roles within our homes to bring value and happiness to the lives of elderly people.

THE ROLES

Care Assistant HBC2 - £22,737 - £23,114 FTE, £11.79 - £11.98 per hour

Care and Support Worker HBC3 £23,500 - £23,893 FTE, £12.18 - £12.38 per hour

Reporting to the Registered Manager you will support residents in their daily lives from washing and dressing to eating meals and moving around safely.  You will take part in activities within the home, which could be anything from a relaxing drink in the garden to a competitive game of boules, nothing is off limits! You will be part of a supportive lively team who work together to help each other.

As a Care Assistant, you are key to ensuring that residents in our care homes are well looked after and happy. This role is essential to supporting the lives of elderly people, exploring their history, building relationships with their families and having a positive impact on their life.

Under the supervision of a registered nurse, as a Care and Support Worker, you will take an additional responsibility within the home to administration medication, and monitor residents’ physical health and wellbeing.  You will complete and review assessments and support plans as required in a strengths-based and person-centred manner.

There are a range of working hours and rotas available to meet your needs and that of the differing services.

ABOUT YOU

You will be genuinely enthusiastic about providing person-centred and strengths-based care to our elderly residents, supporting them to enhance their health and well-being and live meaningful lives.

The successful candidate will share our values of supporting elderly residents to live happy and fulfilled lives, will have a patient and kind manner, as well as a drive to create a fun and positive atmosphere within the homes.

Professional or personal experience of caring for someone would be beneficial but not essential as full training will be provided for our Care Assistant roles.

Professional experience in caring is essential and medication administration would be beneficial for our Care and Support Worker posts, but full training will be provided.
