This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated team of professionals within Fazakerley Children’s Centre. Monday - Friday. Working on a rota basis between the hours of 8.30 – 5.30pm. Occasional weekends and evenings will be required to meet the needs of the children, families and local communities we work with.
We are looking for a Special Educational Needs and Disability Link Worker who is committed and dedicated to working with families and making positive changes to young children’s lives. They will support the children centre in the provision of a high-quality service, with specific lead responsibility to provide support to children and families around Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities.
The post holder will lead on embedding the Speech and Language Pathway and the graduated approach to Speech & language services within our Children Centre.
They will work directly with children and their families to identify needs and provide universal and targeted support, including visits within the home environment, delivery of speech and language support groups, sleep support, and parenting courses.
The post holder will provide Early Help targeted support for children and families facing a range of difficulties. In collaboration with the family and partner agencies you will develop individual targeted plans of intervention in accordance with the needs of the child and their family as part of the Early Help offer.
The post holder will develop and facilitate support groups for parents of children with additional needs and in collaboration with partners identify services and interventions to support them.
