THREE CLASS SUPPORT TA VACANCIES TA2

 19 hours (mornings) Monday - Friday, term-time only

We have THREE vacancies for class support teaching assistants in KS1 and KS2, starting September 2024 for one year in the first instance.

 

Previous employment as a primary school TA and/or TA qualification would be an advantage.

 

Outline of the role:

 

Support for pupils

  • establishing a supportive relationship with the pupils
  • encouraging acceptance and inclusion of all pupils
  • clarifying and explaining instructions
  • ensuring pupils are able to use equipment and materials provided
  • motivating and encouraging pupils as required
  • assisting in specific areas for development, e.g. language, behaviour, reading
  • helping pupils to concentrate on and finish work set
  • encouraging independence
  • liaising with class teacher about individuals and groups of pupils
  • developing appropriate resources to support the pupils
  • deliver intervention programmes and/or support pupils with pre- and post-tutoring activities

 

Support for the teacher

  • assist the class teacher(s) in planning and preparation of resources
  • contribute to the maintenance of pupils’ records of progress
  • provide regular feedback about the pupils to the teacher
  • create and maintain attractive classroom displays at the direction of the class teacher.

 

Support for the school

  • maintain close links between home and school
  • liaise, advise and consult with other members of the team supporting the pupil when asked to do so
  • be aware of confidential issues linked to home/pupils/teachers/school and to keep confidences appropriately
  • be aware of and adhere to school policies and procedures
  • Attend relevant training, including INSET days as requested
  • Support PTA or other school-community events
  • Perform any other tasks, as directed by the Headteacher, which fall within the purview of the post

 

 

A fixed term contract until the end of the summer term 2025 is available in the first instance.
