Liverpool Children’s Services have high ambitions and are on an improvement journey to become outstanding. We have a new permanent locally based inspirational leadership team who have a fresh vision, dedicated to driving practice forward. It’s an exciting time to join us and be part of that change. Part of our vision is that we are creating a new dedicated service for Unaccompanied Asylum Seeker Children (UASC) and Leaving Care Children and Young People and we are looking for skilled passionate and dedicated professionals to join us to specialise in this service area.

The Role

  • You will have the drive and motivation to deliver excellent services and improve outcomes to ensure a positive difference and brighter future for our children and young people
  • You will hold a Level 3 or higher qualification and be able to demonstrate substantial experience of working with and have strong direct experience working with vulnerable children and young people within or leaving the care system
  • You will have sound understanding of legislation, as well as financial and benefit entitlements for care leavers
  • As a Personal Advisor for leaving care, you will be working with a group of amazing young people who come from diverse backgrounds and who have a range of life experiences
  • You will need to have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to motivate young people and to inspire them to make the most of their potential   
  • You will creatively source appropriate support with regards to suitable accommodation, education and employment opportunities as well as provide them with the emotional, social and practice skills to promote independent living
  • You will work closely with our permanence service to provide tailored support, accurate guidance and advice on transition planning for young people leaving care
  • You will be confident and proactive and able to work in partnership with all multi-agencies to ensure you achieve the best outcomes
