Hours: Mon – Fri – 7.15am – 9.45am  and then  3.00pm – 5.30pm  25 hours per week

 

There is an opportunity for the post to be split to offer two positions, i.e., morning role and afternoon role and therefore two candidates could be appointed to the role.  Please indicate on your application whether this would be of interest to you.

 

 

Flexibility is vital in order to meet the requirements of the school.

 

Hours apply during term time and school holiday periods.

 

Post holder will be entitled to 25 days holiday during designated school holiday periods.  There is also the option to compress hours to just one shift during school holiday periods.

 

We are looking to appoint a hard-working, honest, dependable, self-motivated person/s who will provide a key role in maintaining our school site, to ensure a welcoming and safe environment for the whole school community.

 

It is important for us that the successful candidate/s communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.  A large part of the role is being front of house, greeting parents and children, as well as recording the site checks and security, keeping relevant and accurate documentation.

 

Duties and responsibilities include:

 

  • Overall security of the school premises
  • Compliance with all safeguarding policies and procedures
  • The main point of contact in an emergency call out situation
  • Upkeep and general care of the school including allocated areas for cleaning - internal and external
  • Ability to carry out minor repairs and general maintenance.
  • General porterage duties and moving of furniture
  • Carry out and record necessary checks and maintain Health and Safety records
  • Undertake duties in relation to fire safety and maintenance
  • Ensuring site safety during inclement weather
  • Supporting the maintenance of property and grounds including liaising with contractors
  • Monitor site stock and order supplies
  • Understand and implement systems to ensure the schools energy is efficiently managed
  • Occasionally working overtime according to the needs of the business
  • Facilitate lettings as required – sometimes during the weekend/evenings when attendance and securing of the site will be expected
  • Comply with all St Helens Council Health and Safety requirements
