Lunchtime Supervisor

To start:  September 2024

The position is for 10 hours per week over 5 days (Monday-Friday 11:30am - 1:30pm)

An opportunity has arisen for a Lunchtime Supervisor to join our dedicated and enthusiastic team. 

At Waterside Academy we offer new opportunities to learners who may have experienced previous difficulties by responding to learners in ways which take account of their varied life experiences and needs.

The successful candidate will need to display the following attributes:

  • An ability to work as part of a team alongside catering, administration and teaching staff
  • A high level of patience and understanding of our children
  • Maintaining good relations with the school and the children 
  • Ability to work alone
  • Serving with a polite and friendly manner
  • Respond quickly to change
  • Good Sense of Humour
  • A willingness to undertake additional training as requested
  • Be totally committed to the safeguarding of our children

MAIN DUTIES

  • Serving of school meals to pupils at lunch time
  • Washing and cleaning of equipment and utensils
  • Setting up and clearing away food for service
  • Setting up, clearing away and cleaning of dining furniture
  • The general cleaning of the kitchen and its surrounds
  • Packing and unpacking despatch containers and cleaning of such items (where applicable)

Due to the nature of the work the above post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and relevant care/safeguarding legislation and appointment will only be confirmed if a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure is obtained from the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Prohibition of Teachers List will also be checked.
