Safer Communities Service Domestic Abuse Advocate

Knowsley Council continues to work to ensure that every victim-survivor of domestic abuse is offered advocacy, regardless of their risk level.  We are looking for skilled candidates who are passionate about assisting those who have had to tolerate Domestic Abuse and feel that they can provide them with the most supportive experience possible.

2 x Fixed Term Advocate opportunities have arisen within Knowsley Council’s Safer Communities Service (Domestic Abuse) until 31st March 2026. 

Along with direct one-to-one support, the service also co-ordinates/ facilitates several tactical and risk assessment processes across the borough e.g. Multi Agency Risk Assessment conference  [MARAC]  and Multi Agency Task and Co ordination meeting [MATAC] 

The Safer Communities Service work in close partnership with agencies/services throughout the Borough and across Merseyside, and the successful candidates will be required to demonstrate appropriate knowledge and experience, in respect of legislation, policy drivers and sector best practice relating to domestic abuse.

Through a case management model, the successful Domestic Abuse Advocates will work directly with victim/survivors of domestic abuse utilising strengths-based practice and early interventions to work to reduce risk and prevent re-victimisation.

We are looking for a diligent, committed, and experienced individuals to work as a member of the Safer Communities Service delivering a victim focussed response to reported issues of domestic abuse. The successful candidate will have relevant experience of working with those impacted upon by domestic abuse.
