Licensing Enforcement Officer
A vacancy for a Licensing Enforcement Officer has arisen in the Legal Services Licensing Department of Halton Borough Council.
We are looking for an experienced Licensing Enforcement Officer whose primary role is to ensure that all licences issued under the Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005, Street Trading Consent, Scrap Metal and Sexual Entertainment Venues are adhering to the licensing conditions.
You will carry out inspections, visits and investigations and other relevant activities in relation to licensing matters and also respond to complaints and other requests. You will carry out patrols during office hours, however flexibility will be required depending on the needs of the service. You will also report to the Licensing Manager and work with other team members and partner agencies.
Main responsibilities:
- * Provide a robust licensing enforcement service in relation to the Councils licensing responsibilities
- * Participate in specific operations, projects and inspection regimes to identify unlawful practices
- * Carry out inspections on licensed premises
- * Provide advice and guidance to service users
- * Prepare prosecutions files and appear in Court when necessary
- * Work alongside the Taxi Enforcement Officer and Council Enforcement Departments
You will have:
- * Experience in an enforcement role
- * Experience in Licensing Act 2003/Gambling Act 2005 (although the right candidate training will be provided)
- * An understanding of PACE and how it applies in Local Government
- * Needs to be flexible and be able to work alone and on occasions during unsociable hours
- * Must be a team player
- * Must have a valid driving licence and own transport
- * Must have a good written and verbal communication skills
- * You will be an enthusiastic individual with a willingness to learn. Whilst experience of licensing is required, training will be provided for the right candidate.
