Senior Planning Officer
Full Time: Fixed term 1 year

Job requirements:
We are looking for an experienced Town Planner to take on a caseload of major applications in our busy southern area Development Management Team. You will deal with a wide range of contentious and complex proposals and you must possess the requisite level of knowledge, skill and experience to perform this role.
You will need to have experience of managing major and complex applications and a proven track record of working collaboratively with applicants to achieve positive outcomes.
You will have a flexible and positive approach to work and a strong commitment to customer care.
You must have:
- A Professional qualification in Town Planning or equivalent
- Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute or capable of joining
- Significant experience of assessing major, complex planning applications
- Experience of working closely with elected members including presenting at Planning Committee and various committee briefings
- Excellent communication skills including verbal briefings and written reports
- The ability to prioritise competing work pressures and meet strict deadlines
- Excellent IT skills
Interviews are likely to take place week commencing 2 December 2024. These may be in person or virtual, according to the candidate’s preference.
