Purchase to Pay Officer
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Halton Borough Council’s Purchase to Pay team. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, hardworking and flexible individual to join our team.
Working under the direction of the Senior Purchase to Pay Officers, you must be a confident communicator, quick learner, and able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
In this role you will support the efficient and effective delivery of the Council’s Purchase to Pay function. This involves:
- Assisting with our supplier early payment arrangements
- Processing and reconciling procurement card transactions
- Processing electronic payment files
- Processing payment runs
- Processing purchase order runs
- Producing and checking data published under the Local Government Transparency Code
- Responding to supplier queries
You will have 5 GCSEs at grade 4 (grade C on previous grading system) or above, including Maths and English, and have experience of working in a financial role. You should:
- Be able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
- Have excellent numeracy and literacy skills
- Have excellent time management, organisational, and attention to detail skills
- Be conversant with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Be adaptable to change
- Be flexible and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
