Learning Assistant Level 2 + SEN Temporary

The Governors of Newton-le-Willows Primary School are seeking to appoint a skilled, caring, thoughtful and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to support a pupil with special educational needs.   This post is temporary and ends on the 31st August 2025.

 

At Newton Primary, you will work with teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils whilst also promoting pupil independence, self-esteem and social inclusion.  You will assist pupils so they can access the curriculum, participate in learning, and experience a sense of achievement.

 

Candidates must be resilient and reflective of their practice and continuing professional development. Candidates must also be able to work as part of a skilled, well - informed and positive team of staff and be able to think creatively to meet pupils’ needs.

 

The school, in return, can offer an opportunity to make a positive contribution to the life of the school and wider community and extensive training opportunities.

 

Experience of working with primary aged children; supporting children with additional needs (such as ASD, ADHD) and children with challenging behaviour would be an advantage. A TEAM TEACH qualification would also be desirable.
