Democratic Services Officer – Full Time (36 hours)
Hybrid working but attendance at meetings in Bootle and Southport Town Halls, some in the evenings, will be essential.
Salary Scale H (£36,124-£39,513)
An opportunity has arisen for the right person to join the Democratic Services Team at Sefton Council.
Candidates interested in applying for this post should have experience of working in a committee/democratic services environment and of providing support for local authority meetings, specifically Regulatory Committees. Experience of convening and clerking of Education Admission and Exclusion Appeals would be an advantage.
The post holder will be responsible for servicing a range of meetings involving Councillors, officers and representatives of external organisations/individuals and associated ancillary work. Candidates will have experience of preparing agendas and writing Minutes using a committee management system and have a good understanding of the Local Government Act 2000. A good working knowledge of ICT systems and previous experience of live streaming meetings would be an advantage.
Candidates should also support the One Council approach with a flexible attitude to work. It is a requirement for the successful applicant to work evenings (time off in lieu will be accrued for evening work) and will be expected to provide support at local authority meetings.
