Pest Control Officer
We are looking for an enthusiastic person to become a Pest Control Officer within our established Pest Control Team to deliver a professional and high-quality service.
The post holder will be responsible for all aspects of pest control, survey and treatment within domestic and some commercial settings. Knowledge of pest control procedures is desirable, however training and support towards relevant qualification will be provided. Once fully trained you will undertake all aspects of pest control including, investigations and taking necessary steps towards the control of rodent activity across the Borough, often in liaison with the Councils Environmental Health Domestic Team. You will respond to requests for service for treatment of Public Health pests including Cockroaches, Bed Bugs and Fleas.
Pest Control is high on the Council’s agenda, and you will work collaboratively with other Council services, contractors, and partners to develop innovative approaches to ensure an efficient service with effective outcomes. Along with your teammates you will be responsible for the treatment of 2000 sewer chambers, in partnership with United Utilities.
The successful candidate will have good organisational skills, be an excellent communicator especially with members of the public and be confident in dealing with businesses, elected Members and other agencies. You will act as subject matter expert and need to be able to demonstrate ability to plan/prioritise and sequence multiple and potentially conflicting priorities. A full driving licence is required.
