Principal Transport Planning Officer

Location:  Knowsley Council – Highways Development Control Team

We are seeking a forward-thinking Transport Planning Officer to lead on transport planning, development control, and strategic infrastructure projects across Knowsley.  You will provide expert advice on planning applications, transport modelling, and sustainable travel initiatives, while supporting the delivery of Capital Delivery Schemes that enhance the borough’s transport network and highway safety.

What we’re looking for:

  • A proactive problem solver with experience in transport planning, traffic junction modelling, and highway policy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to produce clear technical responses and advise on legal agreements.
  • Ability to supervise and mentor colleagues, contribute to policy development, and represent the Council in regional forums.
