Occupational Therapist

We have an exciting opportunity for qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) to join the team in Sefton working across adults and children’s OT service. Applicants for the Post must have a degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy and be registered with HCPC.

The post is based in Magdalen House Bootle, and you will be expected to work across the borough of Sefton.

About Us

Sefton Councils Occupational Therapy Team is going through an exciting period of transformation to meet the needs of the people of Sefton creating a confident and connected borough. The successful applicant will work alongside health and social colleagues, individuals and managers to provide a person-centered approach to residents of Sefton who require assessment and intervention to live independently and safely in the environment of their choice. We are a forward-thinking team and offer a positive working environment with opportunities to promote innovative practices.

As part of the service, the applicant will have the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills in the areas of equipment, adaptations, safety, risk assessment and moving handling. The successful candidates will have access to robust supervision, high levels of training, support and opportunity for continuous development in the provision of service for Sefton residents.

The OT team is becoming an integral part of Sefton’s Technology Enabled Care strategy, which is continuously developing the use of assistive technology to enable individuals to remain safe and independent within their own homes or support setting. You will have the opportunity to complete Sefton’s own training module and work in coproduction with individual to educate, identify and provide tech equipment to meet their needs.

We can offer you a manageable and diverse caseload including working some days as part of a new initiative on the mobile Rapid Equipment and Assessment Community Team (REACT) van providing assessment and provision of low-level equipment to Sefton residents.  With regular supervision and training, we have a commitment to our staff’s professional development and actively promote career progression and training opportunities that will support your CPD.
