Supported Living Supervisor

We are excited to offer full time 37-hour permanent Supported Living Supervisor post this is based in our Supported Living Service Duty Office at 22 Sorogold Close. The post is shift work on a rota basis e.g. 8-3pm and 2.45-10pm Monday-Sunday including weekends and bank holidays. The successful candidate will also be part of the out of hours on call rota e.g. 10pm-8am and will join our team of 8 Supervisors. Drivers are desirable but not essential.
Applicants must have experience of working with adults with a learning disability, and it is essential that they hold NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent and ideally possess an NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent or a willingness to work towards. Working in a Care Quality Commission Regulated Service applicants must adhere to all standards of the job role.
Supported Living is a provider service that enables and supports adults with learning disabilities with a range of complex needs such as autism, physical disabilities, and behavioural challenges in their own homes. We adopt a multi-agency approach to help promote positive behaviour management, in the safest, ethical, and most appropriate way possible. The role of Supervisor involves being responsible and accountable for the care and safety of 21 Service Users living in 14 tenancies across the borough of St Helens including providing personal care and meeting support needs as and when the service requires.
Our overall aim and ethos are to promote positive fulfilling lives for Service Users, via social inclusion, choice, developing and promoting their independence in a person-centred way. Whilst office based the role can often include directly supporting Service Users in their own home as and when required to meet their needs with personal care using safer people handling equipment were assessed and to manage their challenging behaviour by following risk assessments and risk management strategies, whilst maintaining and promoting their independence at all times.
This role will involve supervising and supporting Supported Living Support Workers across the service to ensure they are working from person centred support plans, risk assessments and the promotion of person-centred planning, follow all the policies and procedures that are in place e.g. safeguarding adult’s procedures and attend regular training.

Shift Patterns: Shifts patterns Monday-Sunday include for example early shifts from 8am-3pm or late shifts 2.45pm-10pm working in the Duty Office and other shifts working in the community tenancies. Out of hours On Call rota e.g. 10pm-8am. Bank holidays as per rota as the service is run 24/7. There may be occasions to work additional hours to support the service whilst the team are on training, holidays, and sickness.
Travel: Office base is 22 Sorogold Close Our Service Users live across several tenancies in the borough and rely on the flexibility and reliability of our teams to travel across the borough of St Helens to provide the care they need and to complete their managerial responsibilities. A drivers licence is advantageous but is not essential.
