Learning Assistant Level 2 + SEN

The Governors of Newton-le-Willows Primary School are seeking to appoint a skilled, caring, thoughtful and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a passion for teaching and learning
  • Builds strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
  • Is committed to high standards and achieving the best outcomes for all
  • Embraces creativity and innovation in the classroom
  • Works well as part of a team and contributes positively to school life

Experience of working with primary-aged children; supporting children with additional needs (such as ASD, ADHD) and children with challenging behaviour would be an advantage, as it is likely that the pupils you will be supporting in this role will have a SEND diagnosis and will require support when dysregulated.

A TEAM TEACH qualification would also be desirable.

Post 1 = 25 hours per week, Temporary to cover a period of Maternity Leave

Post 2 = 25 Hours per week, Fixed term until 31/08/2026
