Our Social Workers make all the difference by managing a protected caseload within a framework of supervision, including the referral, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of appropriate action to ensure that resources are utilised effectively to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, families, and carers.
To apply for one of our Social Worker or Senior Social Worker roles, it is essential that you have the following knowledge and understanding:
- 1989 Children Act, the 2004 Act and other relevant legislation and statutory guidance.
- Knowledge of Safeguarding and the Social Workers’ role and responsibility in relation to Safeguarding Children.
- Knowledge of Looked After Children procedures and guidance.
- CQSW, CSS, Dip SW or Social Work Degree
- Registered Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England or will apply for registration before taking up the post.
- Willingness to undertake all essential training is essential.

This is a hybrid position with some home working, however the post will require you to be based at our offices in St Helens and be able to attend the St Helens area regularly as part of your work.
