ICT Technical Service Desk Analyst x2

We are St Helens Borough Council

Located in the heart of the Northwest close to Liverpool, Manchester and Lancashire, St Helens is a modernising Council which is passionate and ambitious for the children and families we support, our communities and our workforce. As part of our transformation journey, we continue to build on our progress and put children firmly at the centre of our care. We can only do this because of our highly valued, skilled, and supported workforce.

Vacancies have become available for highly motivated individuals who want to play a key part in the delivery of ICT services and support to our customers.

Roles That Matter

Working on-site, you will be part of a multi-faceted team, dealing with enquiries from users of a varying technical and professional standing.

The individuals we’re looking for will have:

  • Experience of working within a demanding customer-focused front-line service, ideally within an IT Service Desk environment
  • Good written, telephone and face-to-face communication skills
  • Ability to work on your own at times and use your initiative and multitask
  • Good IT skills and use of IT hardware, software operating systems and packages
  • Access to your own vehicle
  • Knowledge and understanding of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) environments would be an advantage

It is important that you can cope with a demanding workload, work to tight deadlines, and be able to support other team members with the overall responsibilities of the service in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. You must be flexible in your approach to work to meet the needs of the service and have a desire to develop and learn further skills.

The successful candidates would preferably have experience of the preparation, deployment and support of ICT and could be brought in at the Junior grade. However, as the post is career graded, a Trainee appointment would be considered, and appropriate training provided to bring them up to the Junior and Practitioner levels.

The standard operating hours for this post are 8:00am to 5:15pm Monday to Friday working on a rota basis.
However, this post requires the flexibility to cover service demands as and when required e.g. between 8:00am and 6:00pm Monday to Friday.
