Springwell Park is seeking to appoint an exceptional Assistant Headteacher to join our dedicated
leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding practitioner and leader to play a
key role in driving inclusion, raising standards and improving outcomes for all pupils.
This role has a strong focus on SEND and Inclusion, Pupil Premium, Key Stage 1 and Phonics,
making it ideal for a leader who is committed to ensuring every child achieves their full potential.
The Role
As Assistant Headteacher, you will:
Lead and strategically develop SEND and Inclusion across the school, ensuring high-quality
provision for all pupils (and be willing to work towards the SENDCo qualification if not
already achieved)
Drive improvements in outcomes for disadvantaged pupils and be our pupil premium lead,
ensuring effective use of funding and clear, measurable impact
Provide leadership and oversight of Key Stage 1, securing high standards of teaching,
learning and attainment
Lead phonics across the school, ensuring a consistent, high-quality approach and strong
outcomes in early reading
Support the Headteacher and senior leaders in the day-to-day leadership and strategic
development of the school
Contribute to a culture of high expectations, inclusion and continuous improvement
Deliver targeted intervention and support, as this is a non-class-based role
We are looking for someone who:
Is an outstanding classroom practitioner with a strong track record of impact
Has proven leadership experience, ideally in one or more of the following: SEND, KS1,
phonics or inclusion
Has a deep understanding of inclusive practice and how to support vulnerable and
disadvantaged pupils
Is passionate about early reading and phonics, with the ability to lead, coach and develop
others
Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and can build positive relationships with pupils,
staff, parents and external agencies
Is ambitious for themselves and for the school, with the drive to make a sustained difference
