Apprentice - Catering Assistant
SCHOOLS - Christ the King Catholic High School, Southport
Apprentice Catering Assistant – Level 2 - Qualification – Level 2 Production Chef
Hours - 30 hours, Term Time only
Fixed term for 15 months
Salary - NMW age dependent (breakdown per age group as below)
- Age 16-17 £ 6,947 per annum/pro rata (£5.28 per hour)
- Age 18-20 £ 9,855 per annum/pro rata (£7.49 per hour)
- Age 21-22 £ 13,394 per annum/pro rata (£10.18 per hour)
- Age 23+ £ 13,710 per annum/pro rata (£10.42 per hour)
Apprenticeships are high quality, work-based training programmes for people who want to develop their prospects and career. The programme provides work-based training to young people and adults of all ages who want to learn new skills and gain qualifications while working.
Your duties will be to prepare, cook and serve food as instructed by the Supervisor/Cook in Charge in accordance with defined standards and legislation under supervision, comply with the stated menu and nutritional standards, control portion size specified by Sefton Catering Services, perform general kitchen and dining room duties e.g., washing up, setting up and clearing away tables. Maintain records and keep routine clerical checks, operate cash tills, and carry out cashier duties as required. Plus, any duties in relation to the setting up and clearing down of service. The aim being to achieve high standards of customer care and food quality.
This post will be based at Christ the King Catholic High School & Sixth Form Centre, Stamford Road, Southport, PR8 4EX.
