Headteacher

Cambridge Nursery School, a popular setting at the heart of a diverse community, offers an outstanding start to inspire, excite and nurture children at the beginning of their school journey. Due to the early retirement of our successful and dedicated Headteacher, the Governors are seeking to appoint an individual with a passion for early years with excellent management skills, to build on our strong foundations as we continue on our journey of excellence. You will lead a dedicated team of staff to build on our existing strengths to ensure that every child can have the best possible start in life whilst maintaining our caring ethos.

The school prides itself on its strong links with families, the community and professionals involved in the lives of our children. The team at Cambridge Nursery School strive to improve the lives and experiences of all those that they come into contact with. The school holds the School of Sanctuary Award, Attachment and Trauma Sensitive School Award amongst other accolades.

 What we are looking for.

  • A leader who understands how important early experiences and interactions are and the impact that they have on our children’s learning journey.
  • An individual that understands that the child is the centre of their own learning and is able to foster confidence and an excitement for the beginning of our children’s learning journey.
  • An individual who will encourage and enable parents and carers to join the children on this journey.
  • An inclusive individual with empathy that understands the unique nature of each individual child and their learning needs and experiences.
  • An understanding and approachable individual that can use excellent communication skills to build strong relationships with those that are in the school and wider community.
  • A motivating individual that can support and guide our team and children with a commitment to wellbeing.
  • A creative problem solver that can guide the team to work towards constant improvement of our school and its vision.

We can offer:

  • The opportunity to work in a welcoming, caring and vibrant environment
  • An experienced, professional, committed staff
  • An exciting environment where every day is different
  • A supportive and dedicated governing body
  • A purpose built setting with extensive outdoor provision

We would love for you to come and visit us to get a sense of our school community during the school day. If this does not suit you may wish to visit us at a different time.

If you would like to arrange a visit to our Nursery School, then please contact the School Office Manager Linda Lomax on Telephone: 0151 282 5467 or email Finance.cambridgecc@schools.sefton.gov.uk
