This is an incredibly exciting time to be joining Halton’s Children’s Services as a Community Support Worker. We are embracing improvement and innovation, and working together to achieve the best outcomes for our children. We are ambitious, tenacious, and committed to working with children, young people, and their families/carers.

About the Role

Our approach to developing resilience within families has led to the creation of two additional exciting Community Support Worker posts. You will be joining a team where you will feel valued as these are really exciting additions to a high performing team.

You will support our Children’s Social Work teams, working with Social Workers to co-ordinate and identify key family network members. You will work together to help the family to meet the needs of their children through family network meetings.

You will be instrumental in making a difference to our work with families. You will help us to empower parents and carers, and those important wider family members and friends, bringing them together to ensure the well-being and care of children and young people. You will help families to implement safe plans for their children and help them be creative about what support they need. You will enable families to improve outcomes for children and young people and will keep them safe enabling them to thrive.

Based in the Duty and Assessment Team, you will work across all of the children’s social work teams.

About You

You’ll be incredibly passionate about the challenges and ambitions in consistently safeguarding children & young people in Halton to thrive and to be safe, happy, successful and healthy.

You will hold an NVQ Level 3 in social care, and be committed to making a positive difference in the lives of children and families in Halton.

With a proven track record in delivering high quality support to children and their families, you will have the skills to work with children and young people who are returning to live with their own family. You will be comfortable providing support and advice, encouragement, and empowering our families to increase their internal resilience.

If you have what it takes to undertake this role and you are passionate about our children; if you want to work with people who truly care about and who want to do all they can for the children of Halton, then we would love to hear from you.

If you would like more information please contact Lisa Riley at Lisa.riley@halton.gov.uk or by telephone on 07768558397.

Interviews will be held w/c Monday 22nd July (subject to change).
