An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Specialist Transport Unit for an Operations Manager.

Sefton’s Operational In-House Transport Service is commitment is to ensure our passengers deserve a service of the highest quality transport, that is reliable with a consistent team that gets to know service users’ individual needs. We take seriously our duty of care and responsibility to provide an enjoyable, interactive and safe environment for our service users who are among the most vulnerable in our society.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the day to day management of the Operational Transport Service provided to Adult Social Care and children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within Sefton.

Reporting to the Service Manager you will manage the daily operations of home to school and ASC transport service for young people and adults across Sefton.

This will require managing contracts and liaising direct with the councils Travel Support Team and other suppliers (such as specialist taxi, bus and coach operators), planning the necessary routes, and monitoring operational performance.

You will be tasked with the delivery of current and future priorities for the Local Authority in conjunction with stakeholders and both internal and external bodies.
