Licensing and Enforcement Officer  

We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our Highway Network Management Team within the Highways and Public Protection Department. 

The role will have a specific focus on undertaking site-based inspections of new developments and infrastructure to ensure compliance with approved and highway adoptable specifications.  

The postholder must have previous knowledge of the section 38 and 278 agreement process, a detailed knowledge of highway construction materials and be able to agree traffic management proposals associated with any works.  

With excellent written and verbal communication skills, the candidate will be expected to operate all computerised, manual and telephone systems and procedures including electronic document management. 

Tasks include completion of site diary to include activities undertaken, works completed, materials used and a photographic record of progress. You will also be required to provide a timely response to a range of requests from the public, elected members and other departments of the Authority. 

Highway Enforcement activities may also be required as part of the role and an understanding of this process would be advantageous.
