What we are looking for:

• A good understanding of children’s services and the challenges and opportunities facing children, young people and families

• Experience of using data, intelligence and feedback to understand need, identify gaps in provision, and inform service development

• Experience of or a strong commitment to working with children, young people and families and using lived experience to help shape services

• An understanding of early intervention and prevention approaches that improve outcomes and reduce escalation to statutory services

• Strong commissioning skills, from needs assessment and market development through to procurement, contract management, and co-production with children, young people and families

• The ability to build effective partnerships across children’s social care, education, health, providers, and the voluntary and community sector

You will join a talented and committed commissioning team working across adults, children, and public health with a shared commitment to commissioning that genuinely improves lives.

The successful candidate should be educated to degree level and/or have relevant experience in a commissioning, service development, or related role in children’s services, health, education, social care, or another transferable setting.
